Thank you so much for your book, The Forty Rules of Love. I was enchanted from the beginning, and delighted and amazed as I continued to read. As others have said here, I was touched deeply and in ways I don´t yet understand but no doubt will continue to unfold. The great gift and terrible price of love. A miraculous book and one I now recommend to everyone! Can I thank you enough?

Dear Elif Shafak: I just finished your new book, The Forty Rules of Love. It was unlike anything I´ve read before and had a profound impact on me. It was so packed with wisdom and spiritual insight that I found myself underlining something on almost every page so I could easily find it again. I´m sure I will be meditating on your thoughts over and over again. Thank you for a remarkable book. Very best wishes. Rhonda Grant

Dear Elif Safak,
I read your book "The Bastard of Istanbul" and was deeply impressed by all - the plot, your language, the way you addressed the subject and the persons you described.
Whatsoever some people in your home country will say, you are a most admirable and wonderful writer, and such a subtle and upright person.
I am German of half-persian origin and deeply interested in our common native region.
I wish you all the best and further success - may you never become silent!
Yours, Anuscha

I just finished The Forty Rules of Love and now I too want to learn more about Sufi´s and how to unlearn what I´ve been taught thus far. Your book was beautiful and spiritual and I am grateful that I found it.

dearest elif,
you have changed me with your words, and your thoughts and your ways..
somehow through all the characters in forty rules of love, you toched all of me.
this world of magic and wonder, beauty and joy seems like a layer under all the misery and pain.
so clearly i felt this while reading your book.
this longing has been in my heart since i was little ...LOVE..was the only thing that had any importance , and peeling the layers of time i understood the LOVE that my heart called for was DIVINE LOVE..
my search has taken me to the corners of this world and the source of beauty and love i found in nature and amongst men, in sufism.
i have loved rumi , his words are like water to my parched soul.
my parents married 31st october the day shams and rumi meet in your book.
i dreamt of whirling and my teacher and friend arrived ..all the way in india.
do i say more about the magic of your book ...oh yes ..one last time
your book lit up the dark night my heart was in..
love arrives silently,
like the moon inmy window
rumi
hope that we can exchange some more magic.
love
and light
